Calgary is a young, dynamic city of over 1,000,000 people situated in the eastern foothills of the Rockies, and is the centre of the Canadian oil business and home of the world famous Calgary Stampede.

The tourism industry in Calgary has a world-renowned reputation for hospitality, and excellent service, with a safe downtown core providing a world of shopping, dining and nightlife experiences. An elevated and enclosed Plus-15 walkway system connects many of the downtown hotels to exciting specialty shops, department stores and restaurants.
Outdoor pursuits are a pleasure, with summer temperatures averaging 24°C or 75°F, ideal for biking along Calgary's 200 kilometers of bike path, fishing for trout in the mountain waters of the Bow River, or traveling to the top of the Calgary Tower to enjoy the view.
The city is only an hour from Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and the town of Canmore, making it an excellent centre for exploring the Rockies.
Almost all of Canada's oil and gas producers and a majority of the coal companies have headquarters in Calgary, accompanied by a large portion of Canada's energy service industry, including engineering, geological and data processing services.
